Honoured pre-game for his Gold Medal victory at the 2018 Hlinka-Gretzky Cup, Taylor Gauthier (Second star) made 30 saves, while Joel Hofer (Third star) of the 1-11 Broncos blocked 37.

In his last two starts, Gauthier has stopped 76 of 78 shots for a .947 save-percentage.

Tanner Nagel had a power play goal for the Broncos in the opening period.

The 5-5-0-1 Cougars, who have 10 of their next 13 at the CN Centre, host the 6-4 Tri-City Americans Tuesday and Wednesday.

Prince George is third in the BC Division of the WHL, three points ahead of the 4-10 Kelowna Rockets and four points in front of the 3-6-0-1 Kamloops Blazers.
