UNBC TIMBERWOLVES:

(Canada West Women’s Soccer) Play-in game

UNBC Timberwolves  2  Manitoba Bisons  1

Game was tied 1-1 after regulation and overtime. The Timberwolves won the game 3-1 on penalty kicks.

This was the first playoff victory in U-Sports for UNBC in women’s soccer.

The Timberwolves will play the second place Thunderbirds Sunday at noon at UBC in the quarter-finals.

The same teams play again tonight at Mount Royal in their second game of the season.

The UNBC men and women have their home openers on November 2nd and 3rd against the Winnipeg Wesmen.

 

PRINCE GEORGE COUGARS:

The Prince George Cougars visit the Kelowna Rockets tonight.

The Cats are 2-1 in the season series.

The Rockets are 1-0 since Adam Foote took over as head coach.

The 5-6-0-2 Cougars are third in the BC Division, two points ahead of the 5-10 Rockets and three points in front of the 4-6-0-1 Kamloops Blazers.

The Blazers won Friday night 7-2 over the Thunderbirds in Seattle.

 

PRINCE GEORGE SPRUCE KINGS:

Prince George Spruce Kings  5  Trail Smoke Eaters  2

Ben Brar notched a hat trick for the 11-5-0-1 Spruce Kings, who visit the 9-6-2 Wenatchee Wild tonight and the  8-7-1 Salmon Arm Silverbacks Sunday.

The Spruce Kings are third in the Mainland Division, two points behind the Coquitlam Express and three back of the Chilliwack Chiefs.

The Cariboo Cougars host the Kootenay Ice this afternoon at 4 and Sunday morning at 10:30 at Kin 1.

The Major Midget Cougars are 3-3-2 while Kootenay sits 3-5.

The same teams play again tonight at 5:45 and Sunday morning at 10 at Kin 2.

The Comets are a perfect 10-0 while the Northern Capitals are 3-3-1.

 

BANTAM-MIDGET AA HOCKEY:

BC Hockey’s North Central zone teams host their first ever games in Prince George.

The Bantam AA North Central Bobcats will welcome the Okanagan Thompson team this afternoon at 1:00 in Kin 1 and Sunday morning at 8:30 in the CN Centre.

The Midget AA North Central Bobcats host the Okanagan Central team on Saturday, November 3rd at 12:30 p.m. in Kin 1 and Sunday Nov. 4th  at 8:45a.m. in Kin 1.

 

WORLD SERIES: (Game 3)

LA Dodgers  3  Boston  2  (18 innings)

Max Muncy smacked a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 18th at 12:31 AM.

At 7 hours and 20 minutes, it was the longest game in MLB postseason history.

The Red Sox still lead 2-1 with game four tonight in LA.

The Raptors extended their season-opening winning streak to a franchise-best six games.

Toronto is one of four unbeaten teams in the NBA along with the 5-0 Milwaukee Bucks and the 4-0 Detroit Pistons and New Orleans Pelicans.

The Raptors visit Milwaukee Monday.
