PRINCE GEORGE SPRUCE KINGS:

The Spruce Kings finished 2-1 on the weekend after they travelled 1,831 kilometres.

It was the second consecutive weekend they went 2-1 on the road, with the loss coming on Sunday.

The 12-6-0-1 Spruce Kings play their next four games on home ice: Friday against Alberni Valley, Saturday vs. Penticton, and November 9th and 10th against Langley.

Prince George is third in the Mainland Division, two points behind the Coquitlam Express and five back of the Chilliwack Chiefs.

Nolan Foote scored at 43 seconds of overtime on the power-play.

It was the Rockets third goal of the game with the man-advantage (3/5).

The Cougars went 1/3 on the power play.

Josh Maser, Jackson Leppard, and Ryan Schoettler tallied for Cats.

Taylor Gauthier made 29 saves as each team fired 33 shots.

Kelowna is 2-0 since Adam Foote took over as head coach.

The 5-6-1-2 Cougars are tied with the 6-6-0-1 Kamloops Blazers for third in the BC Division, one point ahead of the 6-10 Rockets.

The Blazers won 5-2 Sunday in Portland, their third road win in as many nights.

The Cougars host the 6-3-3-2 Brandon Wheat Kings on Tuesday with a special start time of 6:30.

The Wheat Kings are coming off a 3-2 shootout loss in Langley to the Vancouver Giants.

Brandon has lost its last five games.

The 5-3-2 Major Midget Cougars outscored the Ice 21-0 in the doubleheader sweep.

Cariboo will visit the South Island Royals Saturday night at 6:30 and Sunday morning at 8:30 in Saanich.

The 6-6 Vancouver Canucks, coming off Saturday’s 5-0 loss to Pittsburgh, host the 6-2-2 Minnesota Wild tonight.

The 8-3 Toronto Maple Leafs entertain the 5-5-1 Calgary Flames this evening.

The Leafs are without Auston Matthews for at least four weeks with a shoulder injury which he suffered Saturday in a 3-2 win over Winnipeg.

The season has ended for the UNBC women’s soccer team.

Game was tied 1-1 after regulation and overtime; the Timberwolves won the game 3-1 on penalty kicks.

This was the first playoff victory in U-Sports for UNBC in women’s soccer.
