PRINCE GEORGE COUGARS:

Kamloops Blazers  5  Prince George Cougars  1

Jermaine Loewen scored in the final minute of both the first and second periods.

The Blazers outshot the Cougars 36-14 before 2,600 fans at CN Centre.

Kamloops scored three times on the power play (3/7) while PG went 0/2 with the man advantage.

The Cougars try to recover from their worst performance of the season when they host the Blazers again this afternoon at 2.

The 9-9-1-2 Cougars are 3rd in the B.C. Division, two points in front of the (9-13-1) Kelowna Rockets and five ahead of the last-place (7-9-1-1) Blazers.

 

PRINCE GEORGE SPRUCE KINGS:

Ben Brar snapped a 1-1 tie with just 3:56 left in the third, his 18th goal of the season.

The Spruce Kings play their third straight game on Vancouver Island when they visit the (10-13) Nanaimo Clippers this afternoon at 2.

The 17-7-0-1 Spruce Kings are in second place in the Mainland Division, three points behind the Chilliwack Chiefs.

The next home game for the Spruce Kings will be against the (10-11-4-2) Trail Smoke Eaters on Wednesday.

Logan Neaton made 16 saves for the shutout and Ben Brar scored twice and added an assist.

CARIBOO COUGARS:

Cariboo Cougars  2  Greater Vancouver Canadians  2  (Tie)

The 9-3-3 Cougars visit the (7-5-2-1) Canadians in a rematch this morning at 10.

The Major Midget Cougars are riding an eight-game unbeaten streak.

The Prince George based team is just two points out of first place.

The Cariboo 15-year-olds are 8-2-1 and in second place, two points behind the Okanagan Rockets.
