Vasiliki Louka of the UNBC Timberwolves went out in grand style in her final two University home basketball games at the Northern Sport Centre.

Louka was named Canada West women’s first star of the week after posting a pair of double-doubles against the Lethbridge Pronghorns.

The 5th year forward from Athens, Greece hooped a combined 36 points and 31 rebounds in the two games, a 77-71 loss and a 79-76 victory.

She helped the Timberwolves to an 11-9 record, clinching the first winning season in program history.

Saturday’s double-double was her 17th of the season and the 47th of her career – both top three numbers in Canada West history.

Louka finished the regular season with 253 rebounds, good for top spot in Canada West and all of U SPORTS.

The UNBC women visit Trinity Western Friday for a CW play-in game, as the conference basketball playoffs open.
