One lucky fan will be taking home $15,000 tonight when the Prince George Cougars face the Portland Winterhawks at the CN Centre.
The Prince George Cougars and the United Way of Northern BC partnered together ahead of their final Mega 50/50 Jackpot for the 2018/19 season.
“One of the things the Prince George Cougars are really anxious to continue to do is to be a really important part of the fabric of what makes Prince George a great community,” said Cougars Vice President Andy Beesely. “We thought it was fantastic to be able to support an umbrella organization, like the United Way that supports dozens and dozens of other agencies.”
The Cougars urge the community to come out and support not only the team but also aid in a great opportunity to see money be raised for the community.
“The impact that the Cougars have, and the impact the United Way have throughout the community just match each other so perfectly with them supporting so many initiatives and us supporting 38 charities here locally in Prince George alone,” said United Way’s Roberta Squire. “Just seeing that the money can go the farthest and make the biggest difference in Prince George. We’re really excited for that.”
Tickets for the draw will go on sale at 12 p.m.
There will be three early bird door prizes. Draws will get underway at 2 p.m.
