Golden Provincials for the host Bobcats

The Prince George North Central Bobcats are the best in B.C.

The Bobcats, in front of the hometown crowd at Kin 1, dumped the North Vancouver Storm 6-1 in the gold medal game at the Bantam Tier 1 provincial hockey championship.

Led by captain Nico Myatovic, Prince George scored four uanswered goals in the second period and added two more in the third.

Myatovic tallied twice and set up two others to finish with 17 points (six goals) in six games.

Matyas Mocilac, Tye Peters, Chase Pacheco and Leighton Pillipow also scored for the Bobcats, who finished with an overall 5-0-1 record in the six-team tournament.

Tysen Smith blocked 25 shots to pick up the win in net.

The Bobcats concluded the round robin Thursday afternoon with a 6-1 triumph over North East.

Prince George outscored its opposition 22-3 over the last three games and 36-13 overall.
