A berth to the Nationals is at stake as the Cariboo Cougars visit the Calgary Buffaloes in the best-of-three Major Midget Pacific Regional championship series.
Games at the Cardel Rec South Arena in Calgary go tonight and Saturday (6:00 PT) and if needed Sunday afternoon (1:00pm PT).
The winner advances to Telus Cup midget Canadian championship in Thunder Bay, Ontario April 22-28.

BCHL:
The defending champion Wenatchee Wild have their season on the line when they host the Vernon Vipers tonight.
The Vipers lead the best-of-seven Interior Final 3-1.
The series winner will play the Spruce Kings for the Fred Page Cup starting Friday, April 12th in Prince George.
PG SPRUCE KINGS:
Tickets go on sale Monday morning at 10 for the first two games in the BCHL Fred Page Cup final, April 12th and 13th at the RMCA in Prince George.
The Coastal Conference champion Spruce Kings have won nine straight and are 12-1 in the playoffs, outscoring the opposition 51-21.
The Spruce Kings have won 24 of their last 26 overall games and are riding a 15-game home winning streak that dates back to mid-December.

Washington 2 Montreal 1
The Habs loss allowed Carolina to clinch a playoff spot for the first time in 10 years.
The Hurricanes beat New Jersey 3-1.
Brett Connolly of Prince George notched one assist for the Caps to give him 46 points (22 goals) in 80 games.
Montreal is tied with the Columbus Blue Jackets for the final Eastern Conference wild-card spot but the Blue Jackets own the tiebreaker.
Columbus visits the NY Rangers tonight and plays at Ottawa Saturday.
The Canadiens host Toronto Saturday.
Nashville 3 Vancouver 2
Ryan Johansen snapped a 2-2 tie with 21 seconds left in the third.
The Predators take over first in the Central by a point over Winnipeg and St. Louis with each team having one game left.
The 35-36-10 Canucks wrap up their season Saturday afternoon in St. Louis.
Vancouver is 12th in the Western Conference and 23rd in the overall standings.

Curling:
Canada is 7-3 with two round robin games left at the world men’s curling championship in Lethbridge.
Kevin Koe and his team from Alberta split a pair on Thursday; a 6-3 win over the USA was followed by an 8-6 loss to Scotland.
Canada plays (8-2) Switzerland this morning (8:00 PT) and the Netherlands tonight (6:00 PT).
The top six teams advance to the playoffs with the top two earning byes to the semifinals.
Sweden has clinched a playoff spot and leads with a 9-1 record.

The 92nd Kelly Cup men’s bonspiel is underway at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club.
Teams compete in six divisions with finals set for Sunday.

Trevor Bauer of the Indians did not allow a hit before he was pulled after seven innings and 117 pitches.
The 3-5 Jays play the 3-3 Indians again tonight in Cleveland as Toronto continues a 6-game road trip.

The Toronto Raptors will finish second in the NBA Eastern Conference and will face the 7th seeded team in the opening round of the playoffs.
The Milwaukee Bucks clinched top spot in the East and the overall standings Thursday after a 128-122 victory in Philadelphia.
