WORLD U-18 MEN’S HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP

Team Canada looks to be fairing well with Prince George Cougars’ Taylor Gauthier between the pipes.

Gauthier made 24 saves in a 7-4 victory over the Swiss at the U-18 Men’s Hockey Championship in Sweden yesterday.

Canada will face Belarus on Sunday.

WHL PLAYOFFS – Conference Finals

The Prince Albert Raiders defeated the Edmonton Oil Kings on home ice yesterday with a 1-0 victory. Raiders’ goaltender Ian Scott made 26 saves to earn the shutout.

Game 2 goes tonight at 6:00 in Prince Albert.

David Tendeck stopped 30 of 31 shots against the Spokane Chiefs, which was good enough to allow the Vancouver Giants to defeat the Chiefs 4-1. Owen Hardy finished the game with a goal and two assists for the Giants.

Game 2 goes tonight at 7:00 in Langley.
