PG Airport x-ray equipment down; flyers come early

An equipment failure at the Prince George airport has prompted them to ask travellers to come early for check in.

The baggage x-ray equipment (CTX) is currently out of service, and Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) representatives are manually screening checked passenger baggage.

Passengers flying out today or tomorrow and who plan to check luggage are advised to arrive at the airport two hours prior to their departure time. Those with carry-on baggage only will not be affected.

Technicians have been called to service the equipment, but spokesperson Susan Clarke said they do not know when it will be up and running again.
