Tourism Prince George introduces ‘staycation’ contest

Following its brand and website launch last week, Tourism Prince George has introduced a staycation contest to promote local travel and encourage exploration of the city.

The contest will run until December 15.

Entries can be submitted on the tourismpg website by submitting a photo or video of yourself and a friend enjoying a moment in PG.

“To further celebrate the launch of our new destination brand, we thought it was a great time to showcase Prince George as ‘the Basecamp to the North’ while supporting our tourism industry partners,” said Tracey McBride, CEO of Tourism Prince George.

“We are promoting staycations to our locals, as they are truly our destination ambassadors who can encourage their friends and family to visit Prince George. It’s an opportunity for locals to showcase their favourite spots in the city and for visitors to share their best discoveries.”

The new brand aims to encompass more than the natural environment that surrounds the city.

It also focuses on an urban lifestyle, culinary offerings, and attractions.

The staycation page includes both newly created experiences and existing packages from partner organizations.
