A semi unit that was travelling in Prince George was issued several mechanical and administrative violations after getting pulled over earlier this month by the Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement agency.
According to the Ministry of Transportation, a commercial vehicle enforcement officer stopped the unit that was travelling on the wrong side of Terminal Boulevard.
The officer then discovered numerous red flags including trailer tire and wheel issues, log book infractions as well as permitting, load security, and mechanical problems.
As a result, both the driver and vehicle were placed out of service.

The vehicle was stopped on the morning of Nov. 14, 2022, by a CVSE officer who observed the unit traveling on the wrong side of the road on Terminal Blvd. This is a divided boulevard and the unit was on the wrong side of the median barrier. Numerous administrative and mechanical violations were found, including driving on the wrong side of the road, trailer tire and wheel issues, log book infractions, permitting issues, load security, and mechanical issues.
The majority of carriers are very diligent in doing their jobs safely. As such, loading a vehicle in such a way that major mechanical components are compromised is not common at all. Permitting requirements and log book infractions are items that we deal with at our scales and during roadside stops throughout the year. Enforcements actions taken against the driver are confidential and can’t be commented on, other than to say that the driver was charged and both the vehicle and driver were placed out of service.
