Getting knowledge about kidney disease out is the main idea behind this weekend’s Prince George Kidney Walk. The event will take place Sunday at the Northern Sport Centre starting at two pm. Kidney Disease Branch Chapter Coordinator Marvene Layte says getting more organ donors signed up is her personal goal.
“Most people don’t know is that we can actually live with one kidney,” says Layte, “we are very advantageous that we have two kidneys and they are really not overworked at all, we can quite easily live with one organ.”
Layte says they are also aiming to raise $30,000 for the Kidney Foundation. She says registration begins at one pm.
