Unearthing The Gandharvas with Paul Jago & The Jago Family Values Band

December 28 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

$20

Paul Jago, Prince George’s resident rockstar and lead singer and primary songwriter of the award-winning Canadian alternative rock band, The Gandharvas, brings his “Unearthing The Gandharvas” show to western Canada for the first time, playing one night of exclusively music released by The Gandharvas. Opening the evening will be modern rocker extraordinaire, Britt AM (Good Egg Records), with her full band.

Lauded as one of the best rock singers in Canadian music history, Paul Jago breathes new life and authenticity into the music of the Gandharvas, stripping it down to just vocals and guitar. Paul will be accompanied by his brother Noel Jago, virtuoso percussionist and original studio drummer for The Gandharvas. Prodigious multi-instrumentalist, northern BC’s Karl Wyssen, will also be joining in on bass guitar. Aidyl Jago will also lend her soulful vocals to The Jago Family Values Band, making it a true family affair. Special guest accompanists to be announced.

Prince George-based audio/visual production company, Russell AV, will be treating the audience to a spectacular sound and light show to complement the soundscapes of the original Gandharvas repertoire. The concert will be video recorded and distributed free online for Gandharvas fans around the globe.

The Gandharvas released three full-length records with Watch Music/MCA Hollywood and toured North America from 1994 to 1999. Their popular singles “The First Day of Spring,” “Downtime,” and “Watching The Girl” were favourites on MuchMusic and Canadian and American radio, earning them several awards and nominations, including Junos and MMVAs.
