Picket lines will be up at UNBC Thursday, starting at 8 a.m..
The Prince George campus will remain open with services like the Library keeping their doors open, though classes are cancelled.
Transit drivers will not cross picket lines, so buses will temporarily stop at University Way.
Negotiations between UNBC management and faculty are scheduled to continue this week, though they have not come to terms before the faculty union’s 72 hour notice was up.
While both sides are far apart on wage issues, the university says progress is being made and many agreements have already been signed off.
The university is proposing a five year compensation packages with increases starting at 0% in the first year, 1% the second, and working up to a 1.5% increase in the final three years.
