On June 29th at 9:30 am the PG RCMP received a report of a break and enter at business on Pulpmill Road.

Officers arrived to find nearly $125,000 worth of copper wire had been snatched.

Evidence on scene led officer to arrest 67 year old Lorne Cecil Paquette, and 65 year old Robert James Herron – both well known to police.

During the month of June alone, the RCMP saw 15 reports of wire theft in the PG area, including several cases where telephone wire had been removed directly from utility poles; and while the exact dollar figure of these thefts is not known, it’s believed to be in range of around $200,000.
