Alyx Treasure of Prince George has repeated as national women’s high jump champion. The 23-year-old Treasure captured the senior women’s high jump competition at the Canadian Track and Field Championships in Edmonton with a leap of 1.86 metres (which is slightly below her personal career best of 1.89).

Treasure, who competed for Kansas State University this year, will have her next competition at the Pan Am Games July 22nd in Toronto.

–The NB Petro Hawks of Saskatchewan successfully defended their men’s division title at the annual Canada Day Native Fastpitch Tournament which was held at Spruce City Stadium.
The undefeated Hawks whipped Falcon Contracting of Prince George 9-3 in the championship game.

The Burns Lake Bandits captured the six team junior men’s division while the Bridge Brewers of Kamloops took top honors in the women’s division.

–Prince George Senior Lacrosse playoff action resumes tonight (Monday) at 8 in Quesnel when the Crossfire host the BX Pub Bandits. The Bandits won the opener in the best of five semi-final 14-2.

–The other series will continue Tuesday night at 8 at Kin 1 when the Westwood Pub Devils put a 37-game win streak (including 13 this year) on the line against the Northland/Nissan Assault.

The Devils pounded the Assault 18-1 in the opener. Shots were 59-12.
