The Seattle Thunderbirds scored two unanswered goals in the first and added two power play goals in the third to beat the Prince George Cougars 4-1. It was the home opener for the 1-1 T-Birds and the first road game for the 1-2 Cougars. Jesse Gabrielle tallied shorthanded for Prince George. Gabrielle has three of the six goals for the Cats this season. Ty Edmonds made 33 saves as Seattle outshot P.G. 37-28. The Cougars host Tri-City Friday and Saturday to begin a string of six straight games at CN Centre.
