PG Salvation Army Kettle Campaign eclipses $50k

The Salvation Army Kettle Campaign has cracked $50,000 in Prince George.

Salvation Army Business Manager Bill Glasgow says it’s been a strong year so far. “$10,000 ahead of where we were last year, and it’s probably due to the fact that we got off to a great start with volunteers out on the kettles.”

He added that the kettle campaign completely depends on volunteer power “If there is nobody manning the kettle, it sits behind a customer service desk or in a closet until someone is there to man it. So the more people that are out ringing the bells the more chance we have of hitting our goals.

The Salvation Army is hoping to reach $250,000 by the end of the campaign.

Anyone that would like to volunteer can call the kettle line at 596-HOPE
