Prince George sets first April temperature record in nearly 40 years

For the first time in 36 years, a new temperature record for the month of April has been set in Prince George.

The average high last month was 8.6 degrees which was over three degrees above normal according to Lisa Coldwells with Environment Canada.

“It should normally be five degrees in April but we are looking at an above normal temperature of 3.4 degrees which is a new record breaking the old mark of 7 set back in 1980.

Coldwells adds the city is in El Nino spring right now which should last until the middle of the month.
