City presenting hotel tax bump, bylaw enforcement, bus service at tonight’s meeting

Council will discuss quite a few significant topics from at tonight’s regular meeting.

Councillors will revisit the proposed “tourism” tax bylaw. Local accommodations are supporting a move to boost the hotel room tax from 2 to 3 per cent, which would go towards expanded Tourism PG operations.

Council will also discuss a possible new, bylaw enforcement process, which staff is calling “simple, fair and cost effective.”

There will also be talks of a Memorandum of Understanding with BC Transit to improve local services.

You’re invited to tonight’s meeting, which starts at 6 PM in the City Chambers.
