The Bahamas pulls out of World Baseball Challenge

The Bahamas have bailed on the 2016 World Baseball Challenge in Prince George just three weeks before the tournament.

Tournament Chair, Rick Pattie says they would prefer 5 teams but is confident it will be a success with 4.

“We’re hopeful we can find a replacement and we will let everyone know as soon as we can but people will still get their money’s worth by watching some great baseball.”

A double round robin format will be installed if a replacement isn’t found.

Japan, Thurston County from the United States, Calgary-based Sidearm Nation and the Kamloops Sundevils are all confirmed.

Tournament passes are now available through Ticketmaster while single game tickets go on sale August 2nd.
