Four arrested in Cowart Road Break & Enter

Prince George Police arrested four people following an overnight Break & Enter

RCMP was called to a Cowart Road commercial business around 4 AM Saturday. When they arrived, the Police say a pickup truck fled the business’ compound, hit a fully mark marked police vehicle, and took off.

Despite having serious damages to one of its tires (as seen in the attached video), the pickup drove for about another 20 minutes. The truck finally stopped after hitting a parked car on Pioneer Avenue.

Karanbar Singh works at the Petro-Canada at 5th and Carney and saw the police try to divert the driver with a roadblock outside the store.

“The police officer, who was the first car in the video, he just turned a little so that he could block from the other way if (the driver) comes that way but (the driver) didn’t turn … he just passed the lights and cops started following him,” he says.

Two officers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers, with the help of the Police Dog Service, arrested two men and two women. Both men are on the Detachment’s Prolific Offender List.

An RCMP collision re-constructionist and the Detachment’s Forensic Identification Section are helping with the ongoing investigation.

Thus far, the RCMP hasn’t released any names or charges.

This video was taken by and shared with permission from witness Karanbar Singh, who works at the Petro-Canada at 5th and Carney. The video was taken outside of his work on Saturday morning.
