“Extremely busy” weekend for BCNE

The 104th British Columbia Northern Exhibition is in the books, as crews turn into cleanup mode at the fairgrounds.

General Manager Candie Charalambidis says she’s thrilled with how things ran.

“Extremely busy, little bit of a downfall with the rain on Sunday but it was amazing. We had double the amount of rides, the carving competition was awesome and we had two big events in Kin3 with the concerts going on and the Stetson Stomp.”

She says she heard great reviews about the expanded rides and carvers kings, noting that they will return next year, adding “the barns were full this year with 4H”

Organizers were also particularly happy with the way the fair was laid out.

“We had a really nice flow to the grounds, heritage lane flowed right into our display this year and that really worked out well.”

Charalambidis says it’s still too early to determine attendance totals, those should come at the end of the week, but said Saturday was definitely the busiest day for them.
