One Prince George player was protected and another was unprotected for the NHL Expansion Draft.
Defenceman Brandon Manning was protected by the Philadelphia Flyers, while forward Brett Connolly was not protected by the Washington Capitals.

Meanwhile, former Cougars’ defenceman Dan Hamhuis of Smithers was left off the protected list by the Dallas Stars.
The Vegas Golden Knights will select one player from each of the other 30 NHL teams.
