Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation receives Canada 150-sized donation

A $150,000 cheque was presented to the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation courtesy of the UHNBC Auxiliary.

The funds will support ultrasound and peripheral equipment that will go towards the digital imaging centre at University Hospital.

It all started with a push from Prince George city council according to Foundation CEO Judy Neiser.

“Quite a few months ago the mayor had issued a challenge to members and organizations within the city do something to honor Canada’s 150th birthday, so we couldn’t have picked a better partner to work with.”

Auxiliary Past President Linda Holm believes the new equipment will be a game-changer. “This breast imaging clinic is going to make it so great for women and men to be able to get the care that they need immediately, there won’t be a waiting period it’ll be right now and this is what we’ve been waiting for.”

The presentation was held today at L’heidli T’enneh Memorial Park.
