Special weather statement in effect for Prince George

A special weather statement has been issued for Prince George.

Environment Canada issued the warning saying temperatures reaching 20 degrees combined with significant snow melt has resulted in increased water levels in the Central Interior.

Starting tomorrow (Wednesday), a Pacific system is advancing and is expected to bring five to 10 millimetres of rainfall to the area of PG.

Amounts will be heaviest from Quesnel to Fort St. James, where 10 to 20 millimetres are possible.

You are being reminded that riverbanks may be unsafe and to not approach washouts near rivers and creeks.
