From the throne in Prince George to the round table in Vegas.
Prince George Spruce Kings defenceman Layton Ahac was drafted by the Las Vegas Golden Knights on Day 2 of the 2019 NHL Draft in Vancouver.
Ahac was selected in the third round with the 86th overall pick.

While playing two seasons in Prince George, the University of Ohio-commit played a total of 110 games, scoring 10 goals and 50 assists while patrolling the Spruce Kings blueline.
Heading into the draft, the North Vancouver product was ranked 62nd among North American skaters. Upon his name being called, he became the 52nd North American skater chosen.
The day brought a second Spruce King being drafted. Goaltender Logan Neaton was selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the fifth round, 144th overall.

Prince George Cougars defenceman Cole Moberg went 194th overall to the Chicago Blackhawks.

While Cougars netminder Taylor Gauthier entered the draft as the seventh-ranked North American goalie according to Central Scouting, the Calgary native went undrafted through seven rounds.
