Cougars unveil weekend-friendly season schedule

The Prince George Cougars are hoping not all residents will be working for the weekend during the 2019-20 WHL season.

That’s the because 23 of their 34 homes games this year will fall on a weekend or statutory holidays with 11 Friday and Saturday night games along with a “Family Day” home date against the Red Deer Rebels in February.

In comparison to last year, we are very pleased to see improvements in our home game schedule this season,” stated Cougars Vice President, Business Andy Beesley. “But having said that, we will continue to seek further improvements in the coming seasons to ensure our fans have the best possible home schedule and experience as the rest of our league.

The Cats will lift the lid on the season September 20th when they welcome the Western Conference Champion Vancouver Giants to CN Centre at 7pm.

Other important dates on the calendar include the “Teddy and Toque Toss”, which is slated for December 14th against the Victoria Royals.

Prince George will also celebrate 2020 in style on January 3rd and 4th against the perennial powerhouse Everett Silvertips.

One staple that will return is “Fan Appreciation Night,” scheduled for Friday, March 6th, against the Giants.

All games will have a 7pm puck drop with the exception of the Family Day game.
