The War Amps is mailing out their key tags next week.
Public awareness officer Jamie Lunn says these are very useful and confidentially coded.
“When you receive your tag and you attach them to your keys, it acts as a safe guard,” she says. “So if you ever lose your keys, the person that finds them can drop them off at any Canada Post Office box or call the 1-800 number on the back of them and the keys will be returned free of charge.”
Lunn says more than 1.5 million sets of keys across Canada have been returned since the program started in 1946.
She adds when people get their keys back, they often donate money to the War Amps.
The money is used to fund programs for amputees.
