CFL:

Saskatchewan Roughriders 45 BC Lions 18

With the loss, the Lions have now dropped season series’ against two West Division opponents having lost two games against both the Edmonton Eskimos and Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Lions have allowed a league-worst 241 points.

Up next for the Lions (1-6) will be their first bye week of the season, followed up by a trip to Hamilton to face the East Division-leading Hamilton Tiger-Cats (5-1).

The Ticats will be without Jeremiah Masoli for the remainder of the season. Hamilton’s quarterback went down with a torn ACL in the first quarter of their Week 7 tilt against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

PG Lacrosse

After going a perfect 3-0 through the round-robin of the Sr. C Lacrosse Provincials, Port Coquitlam has won the Fred Doig Provincial title. They’ll now face the Northland Nissan Assault for the Glen “Moose” Scott Invitational at 1:30 p.m. today (Sunday).

The Prince George Posse will be playing for bronze against Port Moody at the Provincial Midget B Lacrosse Championship in Langley.

The Posse whipped Saanich 12-3 on Saturday, finishing the round-robin with a record of 2-2.

Prince George went on to lose to Burnaby 7-2 in the opening playoff round, leaving the Posse to play for third today at 9:00 a.m.

MLB:

Toronto Blue Jays  10  Tampa Bay Rays  9  (Extra Innings)

Toronto erased a 9-2 deficit, belting out six home runs in total as part of their 16-hit comeback attack. Teoscar Hernandez connected on the game-deciding blast in the 12th inning.

The (40-66) Jays are 2-3 on a six-game homestand.

The (59-48) Rays now sit half a game behind the Boston Red Sox and Oakland A’s for the second AL Wildcard spot.

Toronto and Tampa will hit the diamond again today for the third game and final game of the series. The series is tied with the Rays winning the opening game on Friday.

The Major League trade deadline is Wednesday.
