CFL: (Week 10)

The BC Lions reach the midway point of the regular season schedule when they visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (5:30 PT) tonight.

The (1-7) Lions have lost four straight and already are eight points out of a playoff spot.

The (6-2) Blue Bombers lead the West Division by two points over three teams.

In other action in week 10 of the CFL season: Edmonton at Toronto Friday (4:30 PM PT), Hamilton at Ottawa (Saturday 1:00) and Montreal at Calgary (Saturday 4:00).

MLB:

Texas Rangers  7  Toronto Blue Jays  3 

The (51-73) Blue Jays are 4-3 on a 10-game homestand that continues Friday against the Seattle Mariners.

Toronto is 11-6 in its last 17 games.

Midget Baseball:

The BC champion Prince George Surg Med Knights are in Strathmore, Alberta for the Western Canadian double-A midget baseball championship (Friday-Sunday) in Strathmore, Alberta.

Prince George will face the Unity (Saskatchewan) Cardinals Friday afternoon at 1:15 PT in its opener.

They will also battle Altona, Manitoba Bisons, host Strathmore Reds and Leduc, Alberta Giants in the five-team tournament.

The Prince George Spruce Kings Main Training Camp will run from Friday, August 23rd to Sunday, August 25th.

Jr. Golf:

Cody Bailey of Prince George missed the 36-hole cut by five shots at the 81st Canadian Junior Boys Championship in Hartland, N.B.

Bailey had rounds of 78 and 74 for an 8-over-152 total.

Defending champion Christopher Vandette of Beaconsfield, Que., (62, 69, 72, 71= 14-under-274) won the tournament by one stroke.
