The highway has been reopened to traffic. Updated story at 10:30 AM Police in Prince George responded to a firearms incident at a residence along the Hart Highway this morning (Thu). Just after 9:30 AM, the RCMP attended a call where a man had a firearm near Christopher Drive at the north end of city limits. A portion of the highway will be closed while officers resolve the situation. Traffic control personnel are re-routing vehicles to Old Summit Lake Road. Police are asking the public to avoid the area and further updates will be provided. Highway 97 has been shutdown just north of #CityofPG, about 7 km’s north of the Husky Gas Station. Traffic is shut down along the highway and northbound traffic is being diverted by police down to Old Summit Lake Road. MyPGNow has a reporter at the scene.
