Red Cross recruiting volunteers in Prince George

The Canadian Red Cross in Prince George will be a hosting Volunteer Information Tour this week.

They’ll be setting up shop at the Prince George HELP Depot to answer questions and grow their volunteer base in the Northern Capital.

Anyone interested in learning more about the work the Red Cross is doing in the city is welcome to drop by. Program coordinators will be on-site discussing the impact volunteer-powered programs have had in supporting vulnerable community members over the years, as well as the many ways in which individuals and groups can get involved.

According to the Red Cross, both the HELP and the Emergency Management teams are in need of volunteers. More HELP volunteers will grow and maintain access to mobility aids and equipment following surgery or illness. Emergency Management volunteers help ensure access to shelter, food, and clothing supports following both small disasters like a house fire, and large disasters like wildfires and floods.

The tour runs from 11:00 am –1:00 pm at 1399 6th Avenue.
