Local forums and debates scheduled ahead of Federal Election

The Prince George – Cariboo riding will be having its first candidates forum this week.

Conservative incumbent Todd Doherty, Liberal Tracy Calogheros, NDP’s Heather Sapergia, the Green Party’s Mackenzie Kerr, and People’s Party candidate Jink Lan Yang will all be on hand at Trinity United, located at 3555 5th Avenue.

The event will get underway at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 3) and run until approximately 9:00 p.m.

The Prince George Chamber of Commerce will be bringing all of the local candidates ahead of the upcoming Federal Election together for a public forum.

Taking place next Wednesday (Oct. 9), the event will provide each candidate with an opportunity to communicate their platform at the Canfor Theatre at UNBC.

There will be two debates scheduled. The first one will get underway 30 minutes after doors open at 6:00 p.m. The second debate period will commence at 8:00 p.m. Seating for the event will be first-come, first-serve.

Additionally, the Chamber is giving all of its members the opportunity to hear directly from the local politicians, while also enhancing networking opportunities. That will be made possible at a Political Breakfast, featuring the 2019 Federal Election Candidates the morning after the debates.

Members can get their tickets for $30, while future members can purchase tickets for $35.

The Federal Election will take place on October 21st.
