Two in hospital with severe burns following Chilako Ave. fire

19 firefighters from four halls responded to a fire at a home on Chilako Avenue last night (Saturday).

According to Assistant Fire Chief Denis Poulin, when crews arrived they found the structure fully involved and two occupants outside of the home suffering from severe burns.

Due to the extreme heat and flame, crews were forced to fight the fire from the exterior of the structure.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and damage is estimated at around $400,000.

Poulin said there were no injuries to fire personal.
