ICYMI: 14th Annual Healthier You Expo on today

The Annual Healthier You Expo is taking place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m today (Sunday) at the Prince George Civic Centre.

“One of the things we need to pay attention to is living a healthier lifestyle looking at chronic disease and how we can reduce it but it’s also of economic interest in British Columbia because health care costs are the majority of the budget here in the province,” said host of the event, Prince George-Valemount MLA Shirley Bond.

According to her, the approach to the event is simple

“It is about looking at options and choices and it’s a chance to talk to other people and to see the exhibit. One of the more popular features is the ability to get a flu shot because we know how important that is.”

She adds the event isn’t just for seniors.

“We’re trying to attract younger families and people that are interested in changing lifestyles and this is a great opportunity to come by.”

Admission to the Expo is free and will include speakers, information and prizes.
