You might see a furry friend the next time you’re at the Prince George Courthouse.
RCMP Victim Services Section has been able to get one of its therapy dogs certified to go into the law courts.
Although Coordinator Krista Levar says Max can’t go into the court room just yet.
“And to accompany victims, provide support while they’re waiting testimony and to also go to interviews and things like that.”
Levar says using therapy dogs in a court room setting has been somewhat of a trend in the US.
She says whether or not Max can go into the court room will be judged on a case by case basis.
