Prince George Hospice Society seeking $25,000 per guest room

The PG Hospice Society has announced a new campaign to renovate the Rotary Hospice House.

The facility was last updated in 2009 and has since seen over 3,300 people pass through its ten rooms. Each care room will cost about $25,000 to renovate, with medical equipment nearing expiry receiving priority alongside general updating and repairs.

“For this campaign we are looking specifically for money to support renovations… we appreciate any support we can get” explained Donna Flood, the Hospice Society’s Executive Director.

Flood further explained that community donations can also be used to update and name various other rooms of the house, including common areas and an outdoor lounge.

Five rooms have already been named by groups, including Yellowhead Rotary in memory of Del Laverdure, The Legault family, PG Motors, Greg and Sandra Zoerb, and PG Downtown Rotary Club.

More information about the Prince George Hospice Society can be found on their website.
