Kordyban Lodge Campaign gets a leg up from Prince George Ford

Guests staying in Prince George’s Kordyban Lodge will have a little help from the Canadian Cancer Society’s ‘Peace of Mind’ campaign.

Prince George Ford has donated $15,000 to bring the campaign total to just over $270,000.

The project’s aim is to ease the financial burden for those who have to travel to Prince George in order to receive cancer treatment.

They hope to lower the nightly fee at the lodge from $54 per guest to $20.

“The impact is immediate, it’s a financial impact on them at a time when they need it most. A lot of people don’t realize when you have to travel for treatment for cancer, it puts a big financial burden on them and their families,” said Aimee Cassie, the coordinator for Relay for Life (an annual cancer fundraiser).

Cassie explains the Kordyban Lodge sees visitors from all across Northern B.C.

Chris Wall, General Manager of the dealership said the decision to help was easy because a lot of the dealership employees have personal connections to the charity.

The campaign is expected to kick off early in the new year.

They are halfway to their goal of $450,000.
