The City of Prince George declares Heavy Snowfall event

Because 22-30 centimetres of snow has been recorded in various parts of the city, there has been an official Heavy Snowfall Declaration.

A Heavy Snowfall event occurs when more than 20 centimetres of snow falls over 24 hours.

After a Heavy Snowfall is announced, city crews may take an additional 24 hours to clear roadways, with an additional 24 hours permitted for each additional 8 centimetres of snow over the initial 20cm mark.

This may mean that roads in PG could stay buried for a few more days.

Snow removal crews continue to work around the clock to keep up with winter conditions.

Winter parking rules remain in effect.
