The Prince George New Life Centre Society, a volunteer-run non-profit, has been looking to offer help to those who need it most during the city’s cold spell.

While the facility is typically open from 9 A.M. until 1 P.M., they have extended their hours in response to the weather, reopening for nights from 7 P.M. until 10 P.M.

While the facility is not open overnight, they hope to offer a safe, warm space during waking hours.

“We don’t judge anybody, you know… every single one of them, they all have a name,” said Betty-Ann Veeken, Facilitator at The New Life Centre.

“Instead of just talking about it, because talk is cheap, we want to actually do something,” explained Veeken.

The New Life Centre is located at 1164 3rd Avenue.
