PG City crews respond to water main break at 6th Avenue and Victoria Street

A water main break has occurred at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Victoria Street according to the City of Prince George.

The water main was installed in 1956 but is not connected to the water main at 6th and Vancouver, which broke early on Wednesday morning.

Traffic on Victoria Street will not be affected by the repair operation, but 6th Avenue is closed to traffic.

Drivers are advised to plan alternate routes.

As part of repair operations, some buildings in the adjacent area will have water service temporarily suspended as of around 8:00am Thursday morning (January 16).

6th Avenue between Victoria Street and Brunswick Street will be closed until 6:00 pm today for repairs to a water main break.

Emergency vehicles will NOT have access.

The City thanks residents for their patience while repairs are completed and encourage motorists to drive cautiously while around road crews.

This is the third water main break city crews have attended in less than 48 hours.
