Downtown business concerned over parking during Winter Games

A downtown business owner has some concerns when it comes to parking during the Canada Winter Games.

Massage Therapist Michelle Gaudet says her biggest worry is the amount of people who will be using the available parking in the downtown core.

She says this includes the area of 5th Avenue and Quebec Street.

“Which are primarily focused on people who have rehabilitation or impairment, either visually cognitively , or physically ,” she says. “A lot of people are dependant on other people’s driving to pick them up.”

Gaudet says some people drive themselves and don’t have the ability to walk far.

She says the potential lack of parking in the downtown could mean some people can’t access their health care services.
