Police in Prince George had a busy start to the morning (Tuesday) after responding to a pair of vehicle thefts in the city.
Just after 1 o’clock, the RCMP received a report of two local men breaking into vehicles along the 1400 block of 20th Avenue.
Upon arrival, the culprits fled on foot down Pine Street.
Both suspects were located in a trailer park on Norwood Street where they were taken into custody.
36-year-old Murphy John George has been charged with Theft Under $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Resisting Arrest.
Meanwhile, 36-year-old Joseph Patrick Courtoreille is slapped with charges including Theft Under $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possession of Break-in Instruments.
Both men were released and will appear in court on May 13th.
In addition, the RCMP attended a call just after 3 AM where a security company advised them of a suspicious man in a parking lot inside a pick-up truck on Rec Place Drive.
The suspect then jumped out of the vehicle and fled across Highway 16 before the police arrived.
A Dog Service Team assisted but the culprit was not located, however, a number of stolen items from the truck were returned to the owner.
The suspect is described as a First Nations man who is about six feet tall wearing a toque, black hoodie under an olive green ski jacket and dark pants.
