Climb for Cancer fundraiser postponed

The fifth annual Climb for Cancer has been postponed until further notice.

“Due to the rapidly evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is difficult at this point to pick a new date,” said Doug Bell, Planning Committee Chair.

However, Bell was adamant the event will be rescheduled, and that all donations collected will go to the Kordyban Lodge.

Currently, the planning committee is looking to re-book the event later this summer.

Bell believes the delay could work out to their advantage.

“We actually think this could give a new advantage to the event, hosting it in the summer, of course, gives us a better prospect of good weather and I think many people will be looking at staying in for the summer.”

The Climb for Cancer is the main fundraiser for the Kordyban Lodge in Prince George, although donations are accepted year-round.

The fundraising goal this year is 75-thousand dollars, up from the 65-thousand dollars raised last year.
