BC Teachers Federation, BC Public School Employers’ Association reach tentative deal

A tentative agreement under the B.C. government’s Sustainable Services Negotiating Mandate has been reached between the members of the BC Teachers’ Federation (BCTF) and the BC Public School Employers’ Association (BCPSEA).

The tentative agreement covers just over 45,000 teachers who deliver education to students in the province’s 60 school districts.

Details won’t be released until after a ratification vote is held, but the government says it follows its sustainable services mandate, which limits wage increases to two per cent a year for three years.

The B-C Teachers Federation is recommending members accept the deal.
