Knezevic gets first win at the Scotties

Patti Knezevic of Prince George has her first victory at the National Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw. The BC champions erased a 4-3 deficit by scoring two in the 8th and stealing two more in the 9th for a 7-4 triumph over PEI (in the morning draw). The Knezevic foursome, that includes 3rd Kristen Fewster, 2nd Jen Rusnell & lead Rhonda Camozzi, lost its first three games, all by lopsided scores (total of 27-5). Knezevic fell 11-2 to Manitoba and 8-1 to Quebec on Sunday following an 8-2 loss to Saskatchewan on Saturday.
With a 1-3 record, Knezevic continues round robin play in the 12-team field this afternoon against (3-0) Team Canada (Two-time defending champion Rachel Homan of Ontario).

–UPDATE: Knezevic lost 8-3 to Team Canada to fall to 1-4.

–Manitoba has the lead at the National Scotties with a 4-0 record followed by Team Canada & Alberta at 3-0. The large group at 2-2 includes Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario, PEI and Northern Ontario. Saskatchewan sits 1-2. The teams at 1-3 are BC, Quebec & Nova Scotia while New Brunswick is 0-3.
