Alexa’s Bus catches wanted man

A man and woman are in custody thanks to the RCMP’s new Mobile Road Unit, better known as “Alexa’s Bus”.

On Monday, the Bus, along with the North District police were conducting a road check east of Prince George on highway 16.

The male suspect, David Lenkewitch. 29, drove up in a Ford F350 that police soon figured out was stolen in Alberta.

Police then learned that he was wanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant for dangerous operation of a vehicle and other offences in that province.

Lenkewitch, and the 29 year-old female companion now face two charges of possession over five thousand dollars and possession of a controlled substance .

They will be transported back to Alberta to face those charges.
