The Golden Girl

Emily Dickson of Prince George has a gold to go along with a silver and bronze in female Biathlon at the Canada Winter Games. Dickson won the 10 km Pursuit. Earlier, the 17-year-old, who grew up in Burns Lake, came second in the
7.5km sprint and third in the 12.5 km individual.

In other Winter Games results today (Wednesday):

Biathlon

–Claire Lapointe (PG) finished 5th in the female 10 km Pursuit.

–Arthur Roots (PG) wound up 5th and Bobby Kreitz 17th in the male 12.5 km biathlon Pursuit.

Archery

–Tony Proctor (PG) and Emerie Watson (Quesnel) earned bronze in compound team mixed.

Long Track Speedskating

Female Team Pursuit—BC Silver (Carolina Hiller (PG) was part of the BC team.

Female 500 metres—Carolina Hiller was 5th out of 32—Gold to Sara Spence of Kamloops

Male 500 metres——Nicolas Hiller (PG) took 8th out of 31—Gold to Jacob Graham of Dawson Creek

Men’s Curling

BC (skipped by Tyler Tardi of Surrey) beat PEI 8-6 to finish 5-0 in the round robin & advance to the semis Thursday at 7pm.

Ringette (Quarter-finals)

Manitoba over BC 7-4. (The BC Ringette team includes Sydney Irving of PG). BC drops down to consolation action.
